A few days before the GP of Euskadi, a well known name from trial and hard enduro has confirmed his participation in the event: Pol TARRES (E - Husqvarna)!
The Catalan is a star on social media where his posts include many wheelies and other tricks, skills he has honed from years competing in trials. Pol is the nephew of Jordi TARRES - well known in the industry as a seven times World Trials Champion. And with off-road sport in his blood, everything pointed to Pol TARRES becoming successful too.
At only 22 years old, and after World Champion titles in Youth 125 (2009) and Junior (2010) as well as two Junior Vice Champion titles in 2012 and 2013, the rider from Rellinars decided to take a step back from trials to devote himself, instead, to Extreme Enduro.
As a Beta Factory rider, he made his debut in the discipline with great results in world renowned extreme events, achieving podiums in Hixpania and Bassella Race, and Top 5 places in Sea to Sky, Gordexola, and Lagares.
He is a training buddy of Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - KTM) and Jonny WALKER (GB - KTM), and in 2018 he made the move to Husqvarna, and signed up to ride the Grand Prix of Euskadi 2018 alongside his team-mate in the Husqvarna Six Lyons team: Xavi LEON (E).
So there is another new name to add to the long list of stars that make up the starting grid of the 2018 SuperEnduro season. While it’s difficult to predict his level in this discipline, which is new for him, his technical ability should amaze the spectators and could well allow him to mingle in the fight for a Top 5 finish...
