GASGAS World Champion and resting stars.

GASGAS wins constructor's title

Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna) dominated the 2023 season from start to finish. However, the Briton failed to offer the title to his employer Husqvarna. This honor belongs to GASGAS. The Spanish manufacturer led by a courageous and obstinate Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL) snatched the title from the nose and beard of the Swedish brand. The six-time world champion picked up plenty of points between Jerusalem and Gliwice. For the constructor classification, the two best results are retained at each GP. This season, Will HOARE (GBR), Diogo VIEIRA (POR) and twice Dominik OLSZOWY (POL) have all contributed to winning the constructor's title! No doubt that the Iberian brand will be able to thank this loyalty and this performance. As for Husqvarna, it will surely be necessary to consider entering another machine to come to the aid of Billy BOLT, who has been lonely this season.

Dominik OLSZOWY best beginner!

The 2022 Junior World Champion made his debut in 2023 among the SuperEnduro elite. The Polish Dominik OLSZOWY did more than meet the expectations that his rank, from number one to junior, gave him! He has only missed Superpole once this year (in Germany for the Riesa round). In the race, the young GASGAS driver often stood out at the start of the round, standing up to the best drivers on the planet: Billy BOLT and Jonny WALKER. In Budapest, he has the luxury of beating his idol and compatriot Taddy BLAZUSIAK. Dom recognizes it: “This season was a real rollercoaster both in emotion and learning. I learned a lot and I measure the work I still have to do to stay in contact with the best for the duration of a race. I will prepare well for next season.

Successful return for Will HOARE

Will HOARE had a frustrating season, the British rider was injured very early in the season (while training). This ankle injury kept him away from the SuperEnduro tracks for many weeks. After an encouraging race in Krakow, he had to draw a line over the following races. The GASGAS rider managed to make his comeback for the Gliwice final during which he remembered everyone by finishing 6th in the Polish event. Satisfied with his performance but slowed down by a broken chain in the last round, Will HOARE wants to come back next year with the hope this time of defending his chances throughout the season.

BLAZUSIAK and WALKER are going to rest.

Even shortened, the 2023 FIM Superenduro World Championship season was intense for the riders. Billy BOLT won the title, but his usual adversaries gave him a hard time until the last meeting of the year. Jonny WALKER is satisfied with his season and recognizes that his place as runner up suits him perfectly. The private pilot recognizes that he still has to progress if he wants to shake his number 1 opponent and friend a little more. Jonny therefore made the decision to take a step back from the competition during the outdoor season: "I'm only going to participate in certain events, I feel that I have to give time to melee to recover . In the past, I too often compromised my chances because of injuries. I don't want to make this mistake again. I think I have to train more specifically for these events, I don't do it enough, that's my biggest problem. I will focus on good preparation for Endurocross and SuperEnduro. I really want to come back, I hope to be helped a little more next year and I want to come back in good condition.

The other rider who will take a step back with the competition is the legend Taddy BLAZUSIAK. Worn out by this last round at home, the Pole recognizes that his body needs a little rest. "I'm not very young anymore and I want to enjoy my family a bit so yes I'm going to cut completely for many weeks, just to give myself time to recover. I proved tonight that I still have possibilities to run well, but I need a rest. So I will get back on a motorcycle in a few months.

WHEN SPEEDWAY GP visits SUPERENDURO.

When two FIM World Championships collide. During the Gliwice day, the SuperEnduro received distinguished guests in the person of the SpeedwayGP riders. Another flagship discipline of the Federation International Motorcycling. They were 5 to have traveled among them the three British team world champions in 2021: Tai WOFFINDEN, Dan BEWLEY and Robert LAMBERT. They were accompanied by one of the Polish stars of the discipline Maciej JANOWSKI and the friendly Dane Ander THOMSEN. This visit was made possible by the fact that all these pilots are mostly Polish residents. Engaged in the Polish Extra Ligua championship, the frequency of the races pushes these athletes to come and settle in the various major Polish cities. Very enthusiastic and impressed, the SpeedwayGP riders took great pleasure in meeting their SuperEnduro counterparts. They were also able to measure their popularity with Polish fans during the autograph session. Tai WOFFINDEN even improvised working  for his friend Billy BOLT (as a boardman and cameraman). The triple world champion has also indicated that he would be interested in trying a Speedway machine as soon as he has the opportunity.

The Open class make the show

The Open category was back in Gliwice. These are 15 pilots who have launched the challenge of being able to compete with the tenors of the Prestige category. They managed to compete in the heats with Billy BOLT and the others: Dan PEACE (GBR-Sherco), Mirko FABERA (GER-GASGAS), Hubert HYLA (POL-GASGAS) and Damian BRONIEWSKI (POL-Husqvarna). For everyone else, the Open category also had its own ranking. The fight was intense for first place on a track which was a real test for all the riders. The fight for victory was played out between two men: Maciej WIĘCKOWSKI (POL-GASGAS) and Grzegorz KARGUL (POL-Husqvarna). The two Poles thrilled the spectators at the Arena in Gliwice, each winning a round. In the end, WIĘCKOWSKI wins ahead of his compatriot. The two boys won ahead of the Italian Alessandro AZZALINI on his GASGAS.

Visit of the organizers of Riesa.

Other visitors were present in the stands of the Arena in Gliwice, the organizers of the German Grand Prix.  The SuperEnduro is a big family and the promoters of the championship are always delighted to be able to welcome the teams which host the rounds of the world championship. This was the case for the teams from Auerswald Eventmanufaktur and MSV from Riesa. 70 volunteers were there to thank them for the work done to allow the German Grand Prix to be one of the most noticed events this season. It was also an opportunity to promote the return of the race in Riesa next year !
