It happened in Jerusalem

The third round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship season will have marked the history of motorsport by running an international event on Israeli soil.

More than 6,000 spectators came to discover a discipline they barely knew.  Young and enthusiastic, the public of the Pais Arena followed with great curiosity the exploits of Billy BOLT and his playmates. The organizers were able to confirm that the Grand Prix will have other editions.  The Israeli sports ministry and the mayor Moshe LÉON have already given their support to this beautiful evening.

In terms of competition, we will remember the ultra domination of Billy BOLT (HBR-Husqvarna). The Englishman won everything and he will arrive quite relaxed for the last two rounds of the season at Riesa in Germany.  The championship leaders had a blast on the Israeli track. Portuguese rider Diogo VIEIRA (GasGas) certainly had one of his finest evenings in recent years.  Constantly in contact with the Top 5 of the three evening finals, the Lusitanian, who was a little tired at the end of the evening, was hot on the heels of Cody WEBB (USA-Sherco) by finishing 6th overall.  He is the first of the "others" outside the infernal top 5.

The notable performances of the evening are due to Suff SELLA (KTM) and Norbert ZSIGOVITS (KTM). Both Juniors made their debut in the top class. If the result did not matter, the Israeli and the Hungarian caused a sensation and tasted the level of the best pilots in the world. They will be back among the juniors for the Riesa final.

In the absence of the Junior category and the European championship, the organizers had assembled a spectacular line-up of local drivers who came to battle it out on the same track as the world riders.  All these amateurs were divided into two categories which each contested three finals for the Expert class won by Boaz SASI on the handlebars of his KTM.  The second class was the Hobby category which contested two races. The Hobby class goes to Dan MAYA also on KTM.

Colton HAAKER (USA-Husqvarna) had some administrative problems when he arrived in Israel. The Californian could have missed the Grand Prix. Fortunately for the Husqvarna official, everything was back to normal and he was able to play the evening without incident.

Next round of the championship the grand final of Riesa from March 19 to 20. Two Grand Prix will be contested over a single weekend of competition. Billy BOLT is on the rise, but be careful with 6 rounds to go, everything else is possible and the Briton will have to remain vigilant and focused.  These two evenings of competition will be to follow on SuperEnduro.tv from 6 p.m. Saturday March 19 and from 2 p.m. Sunday March 20.
