Chasing Billy Bolt

After a few weeks of absence, the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is making its great comeback in the arenas. After Poland, the next stop is Hungary and the Papp Laszlo Sportarena in Budapest in the heart of the Hungarian capital. This is already the third time that the world circus has set down its boots in Magyar soil. No doubt that the passionate fans will be able to motivate all the pilots launched in pursuit of Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna) the extraterrestrial.

The Englishman indeed distinguished himself during the Polish opening round by winning each of the evening finals. The Husqvarna rider started the 2022 season as he finished the previous one in «Boss mode». Colton HAAKER (USA-Husqvarna) offered a very strong competition for his return to the World Championship. The Californian signs very good races allowing him to point third in the general classification. He had to succumb to the speed of Manuel LETTENBICHLER (GER-KTM) also returning to competition and in great shape for this opening. Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) seemed able to keep up. Without a nasty knee injury, the Brit could have aimed higher. Chilled by a huge crash in the first free practice, Cody WEBB (USA-SHERCO) missed his first meeting of the year. How not to return to one of the unfortunate heroes of this Polish evening. Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL-GasGas) seemed feverish despite strong national support. Author of very rare piloting errors, the official pilot GasGas will be keen to redeem himself as soon as possible.

Haaker

A very open second round.

What can we imagine for this second evening of the 2022 season? The first evidence is that Billy BOLT will try to maintain his domination of indoor enduro. The Husky rider worked well during the break and will once again be the man to beat with the target behind him. Cody WEBB swore, after Lodz, that he would be a different man in this second run. We can believe the American to show his true colors. We hope to see his Sherco show up at the forefront in Budapest. Second in the Hungarian GP when he last appeared in 2019, he's sure to want to improve on that stat. Colton HAAKER (USA-Husqvarna) was also present in 2019, he finished this GP in second place, HAAKER who has not yet confirmed if he will make the entire championship this season will have a lot on his plate to score big point, just to take shelter in case he skips a race week-end. The big odds nevertheless go to Taddy BLAZUSIAK winner in 2019 and 3rd last year. The Polish is at ease in Hungary, a land close to his native Poland. You understood, this round seems to be very open. Whoever wins will have the psychological advantage over his opponents. The big missing favorite from this round will be the sympathetic German Manuel LETTENBICHLER. The KTM rider was accidentally injured during a final training session. The entire SuperEnduro team wishes him a speedy recovery. Despite this disappointment, the prestige category promises an extraordinary show.

Olszowy

Junior: OLSZOWY for the pass of two.

In the Junior category, it is obvious that Dominik OLSZOWY (POL-GasGas) will be under the radar of his opponents. The young Pole showed no mercy during his home GP. He will have to watch out for the revenge desires of Milan SCHMUESER (GER-GasGas) and Leon HENTSCHEL (GER-GasGas). The three boys may be the favorites, but everyone knows that the Junior class, always very hectic, has some nice surprises in store.

The European Championship will once again be part of the Papp Laszlo Sportarena in Budapest, which we hope will be full. The former Prestige category driver, Sonny GOGGIA (ITA-Rieju) will be keen to confirm his dominance seen in Poland. The Hungarian public, passionate about motorsport, should bring a lot of fervor within the limit authorized by the health protocol put in place by the Hungarian government.
