Billy BOLT double world champion

Briton Billy BOLT (Husqvarna) won his second consecutive FIM SuperEnduro World Championship title this weekend in Riesa (Germany). This second star rewards a season that the official Husqvarna has dominated head and shoulders, leaving only crumbs to opponents who are nevertheless formidable competitors. BOLT reigns supreme on the SuperEnduro planet. In Junior, the young Polish Dominik OLZSOWY (GasGas) also met expectations by winning the category, having also shown great skill.

Billy BOLT has won 14 of the 15 heats contested in 2022. Such dominance gives an idea of the superiority of the Briton over all of his opponents. Fast, fine technician, the British knows how to be aggressive when necessary but also smart and cautious  when the situation requires it. He ended the season on a very positive note since he won the 6 races played in the SachsenArena in Riesa. Even if the German public supported above all its local riders, SuperEnduro fans were able to feast on the performance provided once again by the official Husqvarna rider. Champion in 2021 and 2022, the barely 25-year-old rider is a real steamroller. The question can now be asked: who can put an end to the reign of Billy BOLT?

Bolt

Why not his runner up Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta), the former official KTM rider returned to SuperEnduro with the cap of a private rider this year. He had to take charge and manage his small team himself, work on the bike between rounds, the Englishman discovered a new existence in competition. This surely motivated him to put on a performance that places him as a possible favorite for the 2023 season. WALKER will have been regular and constant, being present in the majority of the top 3 of the season. The British will have fought during the last GP to confirm his second place. He had a hard time facing Colton HAAKER (USA-Husqvarna) who gave him gray hair during the last three rounds of the 2022 season. Finally, being beaten twice by WALKER, the Californian will settle for third place overall for his return to SuperEnduro, it's encouraging for 2023.

The two unlucky this year are obviously Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL-GasGas) and Cody WEBB (USA-Sherco) who end the season with a bad injury. The GasGas and Sherco pilots both fractured their wrists. They did not run the last GP and both finished 6th for the Pole and 7th for the other American. We wish them to put this season aside quickly and come back fit and well in 2023.

In the Junior category, Dominik OLSZOWY (GasGas) won like Billy BOLT, the young Pole having indeed dominated throughout the five Grand Prix of the 2022 season. Taddy BLAZUSIAK's compatriot brings back a title in Poland this year, a title he conquered with authority. He's been the boss throughout the season. It will be interesting to see him evolve among the elite next year. The prestige he knows. Suff SELLA (ISR-KTM) ends the year with a bang. Only at the gates of the top 5 after Budapest. He pushed really hard in Germany to clinch the place of second overall at the expense of Milan SCHMUESER (GER-Sherco). The two boys finished with the same number of points, but given the better ranking in heats than the German, it was SELLA who finished runner-up to OLSZOWY.
