Very Open GP in Budaspest

Prestige

The evenings follow one another and are a little too similar to the taste of Cody WEBB (USA-Sherco). The evening in Budapest did not turn into a nightmare like in Poland, but the Californian still suffered, victim of many racing events. On top of that, the balance with his Sherco is not yet in its best shape. The most spectacular moment of the evening for the American took place during the 2nd final. WEBB is then in the lead of this round, he tries to resist the implacable return of Billy BOLT. The Englishman manages to overtake him in a technical area with huge concrete blocks. WEBB who tried to do too much and lost control of his machine. He lands with one leg stuck in the British's motorcycle. WEBB gets off with a good scare towed by the overall leader for a few meters. What should be remembered from this Hungarian round? Cody has shown good signs of being more competitive. We hope that he will confirm it in Jerusalem in a few weeks.

Arena

Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna) is a little secretive as he arrived convalescent in Poland for the opening of the season. He still felt a little tender following a surgery on an elbow. He nevertheless confessed to being 100% for the Budapest round. BOLT wasn't entirely happy with his settings early in the evening. He had to adapt his riding to be effective on some dirt, which he considered tricky for those with aggressive riding like his. The Briton called on his experience to compensate for these shortcomings. Although the evening may have seemed easy for the Husqvarna rider, it was not. BOLT had to work hard to counter the assaults of his opponents.

Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL-Gas Gas) was one of the most dangerous drivers of the evening. “I really wanted to show my potential on this bike” confessed the official Gas Gas rider at the end of the race. The passion of the "Polish Nightmare" is well established, but the multiple world champion still showed some signs of nervousness. His huge crash at the start of Final 3 spoils a potential overall success. If Taddy manages to control his temper, no doubt we will find him on the top step of the podium before the end of 2022.

Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) was one of the great satisfactions of the Magyar evening. The private rider, however, had to deal with a diminished leg. This injury was contracted at the end of the first round. On the same concrete block on which WEBB and BOLT had their collision. WALKER will get his leg stuck in Taddy BLAZUSIAK's wheel arch. The Pole, not having noticed that the unfortunate WALKER was one with his Gas Gas, resumed the throttle when leaving the zone. His rear tire came to burn the flesh of WALKER who managed to quickly interrupt his torture. But the damage was done and it was limping that the Briton left the infirmary in a hurry to be able to put his boot back on and continue to do battle in the Budapest Arena. His evening results are very encouraging, 3rd overall, WALKER can reasonably dream bigger for the Israeli round at the beginning of March.

Diogo VIEIRA (POR-Gas Gas) and Tim APOLLE (GER-Beta) once again shared the places of honor. The Portuguese and the German are doing their best to keep up with the frantic pace of the top five. They divided the positions in the race, oscillating between the good and the less good. One thing is certain, the two boys as well as the British Will HOARE (Gas Gas) are in an accelerated learning phase this season. The number of entrants makes it possible to be in direct contact with Billy BOLT and the others. It's an ideal test to judge how much work and progress they still need to achieve to fight for a podium on a global scale. If you ask the three boys, they can't wait to fight it out in Jerusalem.

Junior

Dominik OSZLOWY (POL-GasGas) can dream of a grand slam in 2022. In 6 disputed finals, the Pole took 6 victories in the Junior category. However, he will have to be wary of the growing ambitions of Fabien POIROT (FRA-Husqvarna) (he signs a 6th, a 2nd and a 3rd place in the Finals) and Suff SELLA (ISR-KTM) (twice 2nd and a 7th place for him ) who both climb on their first podium in the world championship. Leon HENTSCHEL (GER-GasGas) and Milan SCHMUESER (GER-GasGas) suffered in Hungary. The two German pilots were upstaged by POIROT and SELLA. These results delay them in their desire to give chase to OLSZOWY. They will be keen to get back in the game at the start of March.

Europe

Sonny GOGGIA (SPA-KTM) switched to KTM for this second round of the season but that did not stop his thirst for victory. The Spaniard still signs a nice double win. What changes, however, is the names of the pilots joining him on the podium. Aurélien ADDESSO (FRA-Sherco) 2nd scratch has largely confirmed his good disposition in the continental ranking. The heroes of the evening are the local pilots. They made the Hungarian spectators ignite, heated by speakers in great shape. Mark SZOKE (Sherco) finished third in the first final of the evening ahead of his compatriot Roland LISKA (KTM). He reached the second step of the podium of the last final ahead of ADESSO. LISKA reaches his first overall podium of a championship that is crumbling under the domination of the flamboyant Sonny GOGGIA.

The organizers of the next Jerusalem Grand Prix have been present in the paddocks, the stands of the SuperEnduro for more than two years now. They took the necessary time to learn what makes the essence of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. They promise to set up an event that will mark everyone's minds on March 3rd. A new stage which delights Bastien BLANCHARD, the promoter of the championship. “It is the philosophy of SuperEnduro to discover new territories and new cultures of off-road motorcycle competition. This is the case this year with Israel and it will be even more so in the years to come with the next destinations we plan to visit.
