New 24MX Leader in Prestige, as HOARE Flies in Junior!

There seems to be something special between Spain and SuperEnduro; whenever the SEWC stars come to town the races are dramatic and crazy, and the rankings are totally shaken up. The Madrid GP, which took place at the Caja Magica, was no exception!

In Prestige, this third round saw a third winner, and at the same time a third 24MX Leader. After Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - KTM) in Poland and Cody WEBB (USA - KTM) in Germany, it’s now Colton HAAKER’S (USA - Husqvarna) turn to seize the red leader plate! After deftly overcoming all the possible pitfalls on the track, and defeating his luckless opponents (BLAZUSIAK suffered two huge crashes, WEBB a mechanical failure), the factory Husqvarna rider received the coveted 24MX Leader Plate from 2009 SuperEnduro World Champion, Ivan CERVANTES (E).

On the Juniors' side however, William HOARE (GB - Husqvarna) continues to perfectly plot his way to the world title. The Brit dominated throughout the evening even though he had to concede the win in Race 2 as Czech David CYPRIAN (KTM) stormed to the chequered flag. HOARE is now 43 points ahead of his nearest rival, Tim APOLLE (D - Husqvarna) and 48 points ahead of CYPRIAN. The Brit could therefore be crowned at the next GP in Hungary, but anything can happen in SuperEnduro!

This Spanish Grand Prix has been another thrilling one, and the 6,000 spectators in the Caja Magica stadium witnessed high drama and a shift in power between the two Americans WEBB and HAAKER! While the Husqvarna rider is now 13 points ahead, we know that in SuperEnduro everything can change in a split second! So it could all be shaken up again on February 9th at the Papp László Sportarena in Budapest, Hungary!
