BOLT: “the wounded beast”

Three-time world champion Billy BOLT was injured during the German Grand Prix. He had to deal with a painful leg, still managing to win taking advantage of the misadventures of his opponents. The Briton confirms his place as 24MX leader. In Junior, Suff SELLA took back the lead from Ashton BRIGHTMORE.

Bolt

It was the big scare of the evening. During timed practice, Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna) fell heavily when landing a jump. The Englishman rarely makes riding errors but this one could have cost him his German GP. Courageously, the Husqvarna rider decided to take part in the race, not being to drop all the precious points that a retirement would have caused. Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) made the best start in the first race of the evening, but quickly the injured beast that is Billy BOLT managed to overtake him and took control of the round. But the pain being quite intense, BOLT could do nothing to counter the attack of his compatriot who took the lead in the first final. A few laps from the end of the heat, Jonny WALKER suffered a mechanical failure which allowed BOLT to regain the lead even though he had prepared to cross the finish line in second place. BOLT won in front of WALKER and Mitch BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GASGAS) who held off Manuel LETTENBICHLER (GER-KTM).

In the second German race, Jonny WALKER once again managed to take the lead while Billy BOLT was still a little behind. But gradually BOLT will catch up, patiently overtaking his opponents while avoiding putting too much strain on his injured leg. He gets back on WALKER who will make a mistake and let his compatriot escape. “Billy the Dog” was not expecting such a gift from WALKER. Even if he wins the last round, this will no longer change the ranking of the event. BOLT won his third GP of the season in as many rounds contested. In the championship standings, he did the right thing just before mid-season. He is ahead of WALKER by 16 points, Will HOARE is still provisional bronze medalist with 117 points.

SELLA gets back in front in Junior

Suff SELLA (ISR-KTM) won his second GP in 2024. The Israeli rider was uncompromising with his opponents. For the second time this season, he offered a great lesson to the other competitors in the Junior category. SELLA won the last two finals, while Ashton BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GASGAS), leader arriving in Germany, was satisfied with victory in the first round. SELLA won ahead of BRIGHTMORE and Milan SCHMUESER (GER-Sherco) who returned to competition. In the general standings, SELLA takes the lead in the Junior class by two tiny points ahead of the British boy and the Hungarian Roland LISZKA, 4th in Germany.

The next round of the Motoz FIM SuperEnduro world championship will take place in Romania on January 20.
