Billy BOLT SEASON 3 ?

With fourteen victories in fifteen rounds, it seems obvious to say that Billy BOLT (UK-Husqvarna) has largely dominated the 2022 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship season. The Briton grabbed in style his second world title in a row. Few were the pilots who managed to push the Husqvarna rider to make a default last year. The hour of revenge has come, the Englishman is warned, he will have to pick up his resources to counter and win once again.

Bolt

A challenging entry list.

Billy BOLT puts his title on the line hoping to fill the record books once again. His insolent domination of 2022 could however be undermined this season. At ease on all terrains, the English rider is the legitimate favorite to succeed himself for the world crown. Fast, technical, mentally unfazed, BOLT is a real machine when it comes to tackling the difficulties of the SuperEnduro tracks. Last year, he made very small mistakes that could have cost him the victory or even put his health at risk. His commitment and determination can become his worst enemy. It will be necessary to pay attention to the overconfidence for the official Husqvarna rider.

BOLT will have to be vigilant, mainly because their 2022 runner-up is back. Jonny WALKER (UK-Beta) has now been a private driver for two seasons. The sense of responsibility, an Olympic form at the end of last season, allowed Jonny to come and stumble against Billy BOLT towards the end of the previous exercise. The Briton arrived in great shape and just grabbed the title of the prestigious North American EnduroCross championship. The US championship is indeed the other reference for riders who participate in the world championship. Winner at the final round, WALKER showed great talent and determination to win. 2023 could start well for him if he manages to catch the rhythm of Billy BOLT from the beginning, the ball is on his side of the pitch.

Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL-GasGas) is also back in the SuperEnduro arena. The Pole returns in 2023 with an overflowing desire to make people forget his 2022 season, tarnished by injuries and mechanical disappointments. 4th in the US season, Taddy seems in better shape than last year. But the favorite of the Polish public will have to push hard  if he wants to hit the right pace at his  homeopener in Krakow. Capable of creating miracles on his official GasGas, Taddy will surely be one of the men to watch this season.

Cody WEBB (US-Sherco) is also back. Like BLAZUSIAK, the American driver saw his 2022 season ruined by injuries and an obvious drop in morale very early last year. Third in the American season and winner of the last round in Nevada, Cody will surely be eager to reassure himself at the start of the season. No more questions for him to hide, he will have to hit hard from the start to try to control «the rock» Billy BOLT. 2018 World Champion, WEBB wants to climb on the top step of the podium again and win his second star.

The Portuguese Diogo VIEIRA (GasGas) will also want to do better than his 4th place overall in 2022. In enormous progress, the Lusitano was often at the forefront last season. No doubt, the GasGas driver will raise his ambitions upwards and try to be more regular on podiums or even for victories in 2023.

The season promises to be very competitive with boys of the caliber of Tim APOLLE (GER-Beta). The 2018 European champion wants to show all his talent against his former opponents in this category. Will HOARE (GBR-GasGas) also wants to make people forget a very delicate 2022 season. The two boys will have to show the way to the Polish Dominik OLSZOWY (GasGas), JUNIOR champion 2022 who is going up in the big PRESTIGE category this year.

Junior

Cooper ABBOTT (US-Sherco) will be the other US representative this season. 6th in his national championship, the 24-year-old intends to make a good impression among the world elite. We welcome the return of Blake GUTZEIT (MSA-TM Racing), the friendly South African returns after being sidelined from the SuperEnduro tracks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Motivated and in great shape, he could easily come and play the underdog this season.

In the JUNIOR category, there are two who have already made the young drivers in the category tremble. The German Milan SCHMUESER (Sherco) will have to work hard if he wants to keep the ambitious Israeli Suff SELLA (KTM) at bay. Very fast during his home round in 2022, SELLA could be the big sensation this year.

What is the big novelty for this 2023 season? This is the creation of the OPEN CLASS category. Open to all competitors who want to come and try their luck against "crème de la crème" in SuperEnduro. You must be over 23 years old for this. Two practice sessions and a qualifying round will decide the lucky winners who will compete in the three finals of the PRESTIGE class. The others will be up for victory in two finals contested on the big night of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.

Direction Poland with Taddy BLAZUSIAK and Dominik OLSZOWY for the opening of the 2023 season. The Tauron Arena in Krakow will be the first of the 6 meetings of the year. You can of course follow all the rounds of the season live on SUPERENDURO.TV from 6 p.m.
