Billy BOLT Akrapovic SuperPole Champion

Billy BOLT, freshly crowned with a third SuperEnduro World Championship title, was also rewarded for other exploits he accomplished throughout the 2023 season stamped with his seals. The other distinction that will reward him is to have won 100% of all the Akrapovic SuperPoles this year.

When you watch the British rider during the free practice session and the qualifying session, you can notice the attention to detail shown by the Husqvarna official. He is looking for the best line, the tightest trajectory. The goal is to be able to put on the right throttle at the right time, put the front wheel in the right place, all this with a speed of execution of which he alone has the secret… for the moment. For the grand Polish final in Gliwice, the organizers had laid out a long and technical track. It seemed obvious that know-how and experience would be great assets to tame the arena of the last round of the 2023 season. They are seven to qualify to participate in the Akrapovic SuperPole. The first to start was the 2022 Junior World Champion Dominik OLSZOWY (GASGAS). The Pole, probably a little stressed by enormous popular support, will make two mistakes. He still holds the 6th fastest time. He is ahead of Diogo VIEIRA (POR-GASGAS) who started at an excellent pace. While he was a few meters from the finish line, the Portuguese was trapped at the exit of the stone section. He finished last in this last SuperPole of the season. 5th ahead of OLSZOWY, we find Cody WEBB (USA-Sherco), the American pilot with a thumb whose ligaments have been torn. Reduced but courageous, the Sherco official ranks more than 2 seconds behind Taddy BLAZUSIAK. The Pole on his GASGAS made a very good SuperPole, but his time made him fail less than 1/2 second behind Cooper ABBOTT (USA-Sherco). WEBB’s teammate is back in SuperEnduro after not being able to make the trip to Jerusalem. 3rd in this session, he seems very comfortable on this technical and demanding course. He is simply overtaken by the two best riders of the season. He points to a little less than a second from Jonny WALKER on his private Beta. In constant progress since the beginning of this season, WALKER managed to sign the narrowest gap between him and Billy BOLT. For a small hundredth of second on his compatriot, the Briton failed to sign his first Superpole of 2023. You understood it, for the 5th time in 5 Superpole, the 2023 champion Billy BOLT set the reference time allowing him to start in the lead in the evening finals.

Billy BOLT's dominance might confuse his opponents, but when you listen to them, they're all ultra-motivated to bring down the rider who presents himself as the gold standard in the matter. We can trust the Brit not to rest on his laurels as he knows his competitors will fight back in 2024.

Final ranking:

1.Billy BOLT 15pts, 2. Jonny WALKER 8pts, 3. Taddy BLAZUSIAK 5 pts, 4. Eddie KARLSSON 1pt,4. Dominik OLSZOWY 1pt…
