The Super Pole powered by Akrapovic saw another great battle this weekend on the very technical and tight track designed by Jose CANDA’s Moto Club Movete Na. Here’s what happened…
The first rider to set off for Saturday night’s Akrapovic Super Pole, David LEONOV (R - Husqvarna) surprised everyone with a superb time of 39.585! In turn, Emil JUSZCZAK (PL - Beta), Alfredo GOMEZ (E - Husqvarna) and Blake GUTZEIT (RSA - KTM) all tried in vain to knock him off the top spot. Even the factory KTM riders, Jonny WALKER (GB - 4th) and Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - 3rd), failed to demote the ever-improving Russian, and it looked as though LEONOV was on course for a career first Super Pole!
But an absolutely unstoppable Billy BOLT (GB - Husqvarna) began his ‘perfect GP’ at the Coliseum da Coruña by taking nearly two seconds out of LEONOV, setting a time of 37.600!
With this impressive victory Billy BOLT takes a slice out of Jonny WALKER and moves ahead in the Akrapovic Super Pole standings. But he’ll have to watch out because the two KTM riders are sure to fight back...
